Another Good and Encouraging Day: Ebrahim Firouzi, a Prisoner of Conscience, was released from Prison

According to the Human Rights reports Ebrahim Firouzi, a Christian convert imprisoned in Rajai-Shahr Prison, in Karaj, was released on Saturday, 26 October 2019.
Ebrahim Firouzi, 35 years old, is a lathe workshop labourer, and lives in Robat Karim. He was imprisoned since 2010.
He didn’t have even a day off during this time. His mother died in bed while sick in December 2018, but this Christian convert was not allowed to attend funeral and burial of her mother.

After being summoned twice by security forces, this Christian convert was arrested due to propaganda activities and transferred to Rajai-Shahr Prison, in Kara,j in January 2010. It has been told that the authorities asked him to confess to being Muslim to be released; otherwise, he would be sentenced.

He was arrested in March 2013 on charges of religious propaganda and distributing books on Christianity and was released on bail after two months but was detained for the third time in 2013.

He was sentenced to one year of imprison and two years of exile to Sarbaz County located in Sistan and Baluchestan Province, which is one of the deprived provinces in Iran, on charges of “propaganda against the Islamic Republic”, “launching and directing the Christian evangelism” “and running Christian website. This sentence was issued by the Revolutionary Court of Robat Karim.

Ebrahim Firouzi’s sentence ends, but he will be exiled to Sarbaz County in Sistan and Baluchestan Province for two years.
