The number of executions is rising in Iran, journalists are being detained for doing their job and activists face cruel and degrading punishments, long prison terms and even execution. Even worse, the regime has chosen a president accused of committing crime against humanity for his role as a member of the “Death Commission” in the purge of political prisoners during the summer of 1988.
