The half marathon was a significant challenge for me as I am now over 70 years old. The Good News – I finished. It was the first time I had run in the Maidenhead ½ Marathon (I have done a few others).
It was well organised event and a good course – quite flat and a lot of it through fields and along the river. I was feeling good for most of the run.
The photo was taken about half way through the run – I did not look that good near the finish!
The overall winner finished in 1 hour 7 minutes 52 seconds. People who can do that for 13.1 miles are from a different planet !
Even for older runners the standards are quite high.
Kind Regards
p.s. **Post race sponsorship is VERY WELCOME **

I will run on behalf of the refugees from Camp Liberty now in Albania to raise money for workshop equipment.
I have attached a picture of me running in Canada a few years ago!
