We had an event to draw the attentions to the importance of protecting the residents of Camp Liberty. This event was organised in London in June 2015.
The main speaker at the event was Dr Tahar Boumedra, the Chief of Human Rights section of UN Assistance Mission in Iraq (UNAMI) from 2009 until 2012 when he resigned in objection to the UNAMI’s role in suppressing the residents of Camp Ashraf.
Dr Boumedra later wrote a book titled “The Untold Story of Camp Ashraf ” in which he describes the abysmal abuse of the rights of the residents of Ashraf by various UN bodies in conjunction with Iraqi officials under orders from Tehran.
Dr Boumedra gave a brief account of his years in Iraq and highlighted the systematic abuses of basic human rights of the Ashrafis in Camp Liberty.
The event was filled with music played by our British supporters. We take this opportunity to thank them for their stunning performance.
