Digital Skills Workshops

Digital exclusion can make it harder for people to access essential services, stay connected with others, and participate fully in everyday life. This can particularly affect older people, migrants, refugees, and those who may have limited experience or confidence using digital technology.

Our Digital Skills Workshops provide practical, accessible support to help people build the confidence and skills they need to use technology independently. We deliver more than 50 sessions each year, alongside one-to-one support for participants who may need additional guidance.

Sessions cover every day digital skills such as using smartphones, tablets and computers, sending emails, making video calls, accessing online services, completing forms, finding reliable information, and staying safe online. Support is delivered in a patient and welcoming environment so that participants can learn at a pace that works for them.

For older migrants in particular, digital exclusion can also contribute to loneliness and social isolation. Our workshops therefore provide benefits beyond developing technical skills. They create opportunities for people to meet others, build confidence, maintain contact with family and friends, and become more connected to their local communities.

Our aim is to achieve lasting improvements in digital confidence, independence, social connection and access to services. By helping people develop practical skills they can continue to use in their everyday lives, we work to reduce digital exclusion and ensure that vulnerable members of the community are not left behind as more services and opportunities move online.

We also gather participant feedback and monitor engagement to help us understand the impact of our work, improve our programmes, and ensure that our support continues to respond to the needs of the communities we serve.
