Iran’s security officials have arrested three Christians of “House Church”, while their pastor is serving a ten-year imprisonment sentence.
According to the reports, during a raid Intelligence agents entered the house shortly after the church service had ended, confiscated mobile phones of church members in the city of Rasht.
Three of them had been leading the church in Rasht since its pastor, Youcef Nadarkhani, was sentenced in July 2017 to ten years imprisonment for “acting against national security” by “promoting Zionist Christianity” and running “house churches.”
Three other men were arrested on Friday 15 February in a house church.
Reports indicate that the distribution of Christian literature in Persian is currently illegal in Iran.
There is an ongoing crackdown on Christian converts in Iran; in the past several years the Christian community experiences repression in various forms, by the Iranian intelligence service and the Revolutionary Guard (IRCG).
