Masoud Kazemi the Second Journalist Arrested in Tehran Within Two Weeks

Masoud Kazemi, journalist, is the second journalist who has been arrested by the security forces in Tehran within two weeks, on 5 November, this year.

Mr Ali Mojtahedzadeh, his lawyer, in this regard has tweeted on 6 November: “Bail has been set at 250 million tomans, which I hope his family will be able to come up with”.

Kazemi is the editor-in-chief of the monthly political magazine, Sedaye Parsi (Persian Voice) and has worked for several reformist newspapers including Ghanoon and Shargh.

It should be mentioned that earlier on 25 October, other Iranian journalist Pouyan Khoshhal was also arrested in Tehran and charged with a crime that could carry the death penalty for using the word “demise” instead of “martyrdom” while referring to a Shia imam.
