Political prisoners in Qarchak Prison attacked by boiling water
Published by Ali on September 16, 2020International Liberty Association: Two female civil activist prisoners in Qarchak Prison were attacked by boiling water, Monday night, 14 September 2020.
The criminal women, identified as Zeinab Ghanbarnejad (a.k.a. Zeinab Saratani) and Narges Amir Al, hired by Qarchak Prison warden, Mehdi Mohammadi, attempted to pour hot boiled water on political prisoners Forough Taghipour and Parastoo Mo’ini detained in Ward 6.
Other inmates in this ward rushed to help the two women human rights activist prisoners and diverted the boiled water from pouring on them. But the boiled water poured on other inmates and burned their feet.
Zahra Safaei and her daughter, Parastoo Mo’ini, had been previously threatened and harassed in various ways in recent weeks by the common criminals hired by the warden of Qarchak Prison.
Iran has recently executed two detained protesters, Mostafa Salehi on 5 August, and wrestling champion Navid Afkari on 12 September, to advance its goal of terrifying a disgruntled society.
It has also been reported that following the execution of Navid Afkari, prison authorities have threatened to death the detainees in Ward 5 of the Great Tehran Penitentiary who are mostly protesters arrested during the November 2019 uprising, boasting that the international outrage could not save Navid.
ILA: The lives of civil right activist prisoners, particularly the female political prisoners in Qarchak Prison Zahra Safaei, Parastoo Mo’ini and Forough Taghipour, are in danger, demanding urgent intervention to secure their immediate release.
