THE NUMBER OF EXECUTION HAS DECLINED. According to reports from the human rights organizations, the number of executions in the world, excluding China, has declined by %31 in 2018.
However Iran, with 253 executions in 2018, is responsible for one third of the executions in the world. Iran is the second rank after China in term of the high number of executions. https://www.en-hrana.org/hrai-iran-annual-human-rights-report-2018
According to this report, during last year at least 253 people were executed by the government of Iran. At least 13 of these executions were carried in public. Iran also executed at least 7 juvenile offenders in 2018 in violation of the international and children rights conventions.
