Two ill prisoners were executed in IranPublished by International Liberty Association on April 17, 2017
The inhuman regime ruling Iran hanged mentally ill 27-year-old Rahman Hosseinpour in Tabriz prison on 12 April. He was taking 30 tranquilizer pills daily and was held in the psychotherapy ward of the prison. Another ill prisoner detained in Tabriz prison was executed after four years in prison of 4 April 2017. In the same prison, on 11 April, two ill brothers were attacked after going to the prison clinic and were then transferred to solitary confinement.
Execution of sick prisoners or their mistreatment is a clear violation of several international treaties to which Iran is a signatory.
