Iran: Soha Morteza was released From Qarchak Prison

International Liberty Association: Soha Mortazai, a graduate student in human Science and former secretary of the Central Student Council of the University of Tehran, was released on bail on Wednesday, 22 January, from Qarchak prison. Ms. Mortazai had been arrested by security forces during the November 2019 protests and transferred to the Revolutionary Guards’ detention centre in Evin Prison and eventually to Qarchak Varamin Prison.

Saheh Mortazai was earlier summoned to the entrance of the Fatemieh dormitory of Tehran University by a text message on 17 November 5, 2019, she was arrested in front of the dormitory and was transferred to the Revolutionary Guards Intelligence Ward, Ward 2-A of Evin Prison.

Ms. Mortazai went on a hunger strike shortly after she was transferred to Qarchak prison in Varamin on 31 December. She finally ended her hunger strike on Sunday, 12 January.
