According to a recent international survey by the World Economic Forum released last week, Iranian regime is ranked 141 in gender equality among 145 countries assessed, dropping four steps from last year’s assessment.
Nordic countries – Finland, Sweden and Norway – filled the top four positions with Iceland ranking first for the 7th consecutive year.
Last year, Iran was placed 137th among 145 countries assessed.
The ranking is based on assessments made on several criteria including opportunities for women to participate in economic activities, women’s access to education, women’s access to health care and women’s access to political office.
