Iran: Detained protesters under torture to make false confessions

International Liberty Association: According to human rights news agencies, detained Iranian protesters in several prisons across Iran are under torture to make false confessions against themselves.
Around 420 protesters, detained in Tehran and Alborz province, have been transferred to Ward 8 of Rajai Shahr Prison, in Karaj, where is controlled by the Intelligence Ministry.

Protesters were forced to take off their clothes and then were soaked with water before being beaten for hours with cables, and batons.

The Tehran Prosecutor said on November 22, that they have appointed “special” interrogators for arrested protesters.

ILA has also received some reports that indicate a large number of protesters arrested in Shiraz, southern Iran, have been transferred to Adel Abad Prison, in where has reached its full capacity and the protesters are under torture in Adel Abad Prison, in Shiraz.

Intelligence agents are torturing protesters. The families of the jailed protesters have no information about their loved ones, condition.

Hundreds of protesters were arrested in Shiraz especially after November 19. The city was the scene of intense clashes and protests during the past few days.

According to the reports received by International Liberty Association the number of killed people by the state security forces has reached to 600 while 4,000 were wounded and 10,000 arrested in the protests that began on November 15 and spread across at least 181 cities and towns.

Meanwhile, media reports indicate that the government has started a new wave of arrests since Wednesday.

Following mass protests, Supreme Leader Khamenei called protesters “hooligans” in a televised speech.
