During the Last Six Months, 12 Prisoners were Saved from Execution in Iran

International Liberty Association: During the last six months of this year; 12 prisoners were saved from execution in Sistan and Baluchestan province in south-west Iran. According to the reports, during the first six months of this year, 12 prisoners in the province who had previously been sentenced to death in separate cases, by the Iranian judiciary, were pardoned by the plaintiffs and were saved from execution.

According to the state news agency, Tasnim, in the first six months of this year, 12 defendants who had been sentenced to death are saving from execution due to being pardoned by the plaintiffs.

It should be mentioned that according to the province officials the 12 prisoners were saved with the great efforts of local people, elders and trustees and members of the local Council and these cases were ended in compromise and security which led to provid peace in the community.

ILA has always called for the abolition of the death penalty in Iran, especially execution of children and teenagers.
