Ali Moezzi is taken to a forced labour campPublished by International Liberty Association on May 3, 2017
Prisoner of conscience Ali Moezzi was transferred from solitary confinement in ward 209 of Evin Prison to Fashafouyeh prison in Hassan Abad, southern Tehran, on Monday, 1 May 2017.
Fashafouyeh prison as a forced labour camp for political prisoners and transferring Mr Moezzi, 66, to this prison puts him in serious condition. He currently suffers from a variety of diseases including cancer and intestine blockage. His health is rapidly deteriorating due to years of imprisonment and torture.
Ali Moezzi’s prison term was completed two years ago but prison officials have kept him in prison by making new accusations against him.
ILA calls on the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights in Iran, Special Rapporteur on freedom of religion or belief, and the Working Group on arbitrary arrests, to take immediate and effective measures to address his case.
