In a daring act, took part in an election campaign and held up a banner demanding action for freedom of prisoners of conscience.
Houri’s brother, Shahram Farajzadeh, was ran over and murdered by the State Security Forces’ vehicle in a protest on 27 December 2009.
Her banner reads: “We demand real action: Free all political and belief prisoners.”
Presidential elections in Iran, due to be held on 19 May, is deemed as a farce by Iranian activists. Many prisoners of conscience have condemned the sham elections and called for boycotting the show.
